What happens when people come to our house?

My parents send me to my room because they don't want people to know they have a weird son, like Harry Potter...except I don't have any glasses...and I have a dog instead of an owl...oh yea, and I can't do magic, but other than that...just like Harry.

There is also the possibility of getting kinda bored.

Expiration Exaggertation

I don't know about you, but I get rather worried when I read something like "Sell By April 14" on April 23rd. But don't worry, I drank it...and it tastes fine. Now you can go on with your life.

Side Note: I love milk. Let me hear a woot from my milk-maniacs?

Selecting Slippers or Settling with Shoes?

This morning, I was contemplating whether I should wear them to class or not.
On the one hand, they are really comfy and would make my school day go smoothly with cozy feet. On the other hand, these are not what you call, "Walking Shoes"...and sometimes I get stuck in a parking space that's a good distance away from my class, therefore resulting in the ruining of a good pair of slippers or a constant slip-offage (where the slipper keeps falling off) while walking in the parking lot...not fun.

I, unfortunately, decided against it.

My feet were not at maximum relaxation today, but I survived.

You know you need rest when...

...a middle school student kicks you a hacky sack...you lift your leg to kick it back...fail to lift it and groan like 93 year old man with arthritis. He thought it was hilarious. Yea I'm kinda sore.

Anybody wanna join me in prayer as I ask God to allow the sun to stay up for another 24 hours, so I don't have to go to school tomorrow? Wishful thinking...

Poor Decision Making

Being the genius I am (especially during my "waking hours" of the day), I chose to go with thin socks for the hike today and basically put a fat hole in the back of each sock...the result:
A blister, the size of a quarter!

Toro Park Hike

This morning, we took about 20-something middle school students, and a couple of leaders to hike at Toro Park. Let me tell you it was a blast! John Paul, Tom, & Bob planned this thing out very well and I think we all enjoyed ourselves. It was a bit chilly and windy but our group totally made the best of the situation and had great attitudes...plus a lot of fun. We played some bingo with sheets that Tom made including different items you had to be on the lookout for...a fresh cow excrement, bird poop post, snakes, poison oak...and of course "the big frikkin' red hill" or as we commonly referred to as the BFRH (as seen in the 2nd picture).
After the hike, we all came back to the common area/park and Bob (our own personal chef) BBQ'd for us...mmmm. A good time was had by all! Now here are some pictures...I might post some pics that other people took later on.

The Long Winters

Anybody ever heard of these guys?
I was listening to them yesterday here, and decided to check out their site...to my surprise, they compiled a zip file of 5 songs from a couple of their albums.
"Clearly, it would be presumptuous for us to expect you to enjoy our music without having heard it. Thus, please help yourself to full-length, high-quality versions of our songs in the popular MP3 audio format. Provided courtesy of the band and Barsuk Records."
Therefore here is where you can find the zip file, if you so desire. And here is one of their songs off their new album that I like:

The Wonder of Song-Writing

I don't get it, the challenge of writing good songs has always been a mystery to me and my musical abilities. Don't get me wrong, I have written and created songs before...but I have always been really hard on myself on the quality, creativity, and uniqueness on anything I write. Making sure that the music is evenly matched with the lyrics, etc.

Anyway, today I had a great morning because a song suddenly came to my mind...for a moment I thought I saw a light bulb appear above me (CFL of course). I am not saying its the best song ever written but it very much pleased me with its style and I think I will enjoy completing it and pushing it to its full potential.

Anybody know what I'm talking about it when it comes to songwriting?

I will try and record/post the song and lyrics when I get it down and of course finished. I haven't thought of a title for it either so yea I'll let you know about that too.

What happens when you spend most of your day at school?

Meteorological Conditions

Real nice weather lately...

Gumby Relief Concert

Last night, our church hosted a concert with Say No More, Goodbye Elliot, Down for the Count, and Electric Messiah. It was mostly a fund-raiser concert for Say No More because their van, Gumby, broke down and is their mode of transportation. Knowing that most of the band members group up in SVCC, we helped 'em out. It was fun being at a "show" again. Here are some photos...

Wouldn't it be nice...

...if I could afford this?
For those of you who don't know, I recently started working as the new Web Master for our church's website, and I am working off Photoshop and Illustrator CS2. The website is being completely redone with a new template they bought, and I am supposed to "make it look nice."

Ever since I have been in my CST101 class at CSUMB (which is a Mac Lab Class), I have been wanting to get my hands on a copy because that is what they have installed on their iMacs. Anyway, it is really nice, and would help with making flash animation, graphics, and layout management for the site. I believe the lowest I have seen it for is about $600 for the Adobe CS3 Design Premium.

If you have found it for cheaper (legally) please throw me a comment or something!

The Epitome of Love

General Statements Are False.

Yea I made a new band as well.
Go here if you wanna try it yourself.

Hello I'm a Mac...

No, I like talking about movies...

Well first, I decided (quickly) that I didn't like the idea of updating my library & listening list...I much rather enjoy writing about movies, music, etc.

Second, I had a great day, not so much at school, but because my Momma came home from her visit with Heather, which she wrote about here. Also, today I grabbed two new movies...
My Momma grabbed You've Got Mail, which is probably my favorite Comedy/Romance, and License to Wed with Robin Williams and John Krasinski...I haven't seen The Patriot or License to Wed before, so I'm excited.
Well, my parents led a temporary community group tonight for this thing we are doing with our church called Bridge, and so I decided to get out of the house. My heroes, the Mann's, took me in and fed me Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream...I mean c'mon! We watched Lady in the Water and Idol Gives Back. Tomorrow, after Thursday night FiX and Arc (Jr. High and High School Youth Group), we are heading to their place to watch the premiere of The Office, for which I am so stoked!!! Friday, a bunch of us are going to a concert being held at the church facility with Say No More, supposedly they grew up in SVCC and they are in need of some funds for their broken down van. So this week should be pretty rad. Peace to all!

Library & Listening List

Alright, I am going to try this out...I have resorted to making two lists and putting them on the side of my blog...a "Library List," and a "Listening To" list...that way I don't bore you all with constant updates of the movies I watch and music that I listen to.

Baptize My Mind

I thought I would share a song I enjoyed off of Jon Foreman's recent Spring EP (especially the riff on the guitar).

This will make you Au Courant

We are watching Nina for the Steps because it is Sarah's B-Day...Personally, I would be worried if these two faces showed up at the door.

Next, I turned "Hotel Rwanda" back into the library today and picked up my next movie, "A Beautiful Mind", I currently am in the middle (probably more like 3/4) of "Bridge On the River Kwai," and I am starting to enjoy the plot.
I have been listening to:

& my Dad made a new post, so go check it out!
